#13 Bakers Dozen - Sunday 26 October

Date: Sunday 26th October
Rego Opens: 9am
Start: 9.30am
Start Location: The Basin Shops (meeting in the park opposite, see map below)
Finish: Same as Above
Distance: 60 or 100km loops

Course Description:
We'll sidle around the eastern side of Mnt Dandenong before cutting across to Silvan reservoir, then along some sealed and dirt roads to the 1st stop at Yellingbo (we are negotiating with the store to stay open till 11 or noon on the day, we'll let you know if you have to carry food from the Basin shops on the day or here).

From Yellingbo the 60km-ers will head south west to pick up the course near the base of Mnt Dandenong. 100kms-ers will ride nice quiet sealed roads to get into Kurth Kiln park and some lovely flowing gravel roads to the 2nd stop and Gembrook (familiar?) then some more dirt before a steep climb up the eastern side of Mnt Dandenong and a rip down some fire tracks and roads back to the Basin.

This one has a real mix of surfaces and some short but steep climbs. Like most MGG's a cyclocross bike is ideal but a MTB is all good too, I'd be wary of bringing a fat tyred roadie unless you don't mind walking.

The Basin is a short ~3km ride from Boronia train station, the 7.37am train from Flinders street will get you there in plenty of time.

Cue sheets for the ride handed out on the morning, see you there!

If you missed the ride cue sheet available here

  1. Hey Jon, Cue sheets are handed out at the start. We find it makes it more of an 'adventure', less of a race and riders stick together.

  2. Yellingbo Store has agreed to stay open till 12 noon on the day for us, that's 2.5hrs to do the 30kms to the store.
